Designed & Styled by London's NIX Digital, and sold throughout the UK and Germany, NIX proudly present their new top of the range Cordless Digital Picture Frame. The NIX TS08C incorporates key design features and components that combine to deliver a better frame and reproduction of your photos. Styled & designed by NIX, high tech processing power and firmware made by leading processor chip manufacturer Amlogic of California USA, and the all important LCD screen, an Innolux Hi-Res SVGA Active Matrix LCD Screen with LED backlighting, that provides wider viewing angles and crisp, clear images. Whether it's sharing you holiday photos using the cordless function and passing the frame amongst friends round the coffee table, or viewing photos from your desk, this digital frame does it all in style and with the finest build quality. Featured is an Internal Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery allowing for cordless use, a 1GB Internal Memory, an Auto-Rotate Motion sensor that automatically senses when you have rotated the frame and rotates subsequent photos, Touch Sensitive Controls set down the right hand side of the frame for improved ergonomic use & a random display option for your photo slideshows. The superior image quality of the NIX TS08C delivers 20% more pixels than the Sony 9" & the Kodak 8" & 10" Frames, and over four times the number of pixels on a standard 7" frame. The display dimensions are optimal at 4:3 as that is the standard dimension of digital photos taken by a camera. So unlike the Sony or Kodak frames which all have widescreen displays, our frame will not crop your photos. Set against a flat dark surface, the touch controls light up azure blue (on & off) upon your touch, providing a modern, yet elegant look. A video option allows you to watch videos (.avi and MP4 only), and the massive 1GB internal memory provides ample memory to store your home movies and photos. MP3 music playback, a calendar, and an alarm clock finish off the feature list.

 "Great gift!" 2009-12-28
By LawyerMom (USA)
Got this as a gift for my parents who are not technologically inclined. They don't have a digital camera, they don't use computers. But they love the photos of their granddaughter more than anything else I send them. So, rather than constantly printing out tons of photos which cover every nightstand in their home, we decided to get them a digital picture frame for the holidays. The picture quality of this item is amazing! I've compared it to some of the frames I've seen in friends' homes and it's photo quality is comparable to the best, without costing as much as the bigger brands. The frame itself is sleek and integrates with most decors. The controls are located on the right side of the screen and when you touch them, they illuminate. When dormant, they fade to the black of the screen. The size of the screen is perfect -- just large enough to show the fine details of group photos, but not too large to take over your dresser or mantel.

We loaded up all the photos and videos onto the frame before giving it as a gift. Using the frame is as simple as plugging it in, turning the on switch, and it automatically goes through a random slideshow of all the photos on the frame--this is exactly what I needed for my parents. Getting into the videos or music functions of the frame is a little tricker, but is not too complicated. And loading the photos onto the frame was as easy as plugging in the USB cable, and then dragging photos from My Photos folder over to copy in the Photo Frame folder.

My only wish is that the random slideshow is more random. It sometimes repeats the same photo every 10-15 frames or so.

 "Defective product!" 2009-12-23
By Jocelyn (Portland, OR USA)
This frame stopped working after 20 minutes from the first time I powered it on. The frame got stuck on the NIX logo and I was not able to get pass this screen using the control buttons on the frame or the remote control. I tried removing the AC from the frame and turned off the power switch to trouble shoot but the frame still got stuck at the NIX logo everytime. I debated over whether to get this NIX digital frame or a SONY digital frame for my dad as a Christmas present and I am now totally disappointed at NIX for having claimed to have made a better digital frame than SONY but delivered an unreliable low quality product.

"Didn't work right out of box!" 2009-12-22

I bought this frame as a Christmas present back in November and just opened it today to load some pics on it...The green light on the plug came on, check; the red light that shows the internal battery was charging came on, check; the unit itself didn't turn on (no blue LED lights) when I attempted to turn it on...Freak out moment two days before it was to be given to its recipient! This is the first time I have had to return anything I've purchased from Amazon and that part was a breeze...Sending it out today. I ordered another and it will be here tomorrow with a $50 increase in the price I originally paid! Maybe I got it on sale the first time, I don't remember, but, $50 more? It better be worth it!

December 27, Update: Amazon.com came through with a refund in the difference in price...Thank you! Great customer service!

This is a lovely frame with great features. I loaded some pics on the frame prior to wrapping it and when the recipient opened it, I teased her by saying that I bet she couldn't wait to go home and play with it, to which she replied that she did wish that. So I told her to turn it on...She was amazed that she could view it without plugging it in (I had charged the internal battery).

A GREAT frame...Don't hesitate to buy one!

"Overall nice, yet has glitches" 2009-12-21
By D. Lehmann (New Berlin, WI United States)
Bought this after much research. Works nicely for scanned photos and picture resolution is impressive. The battery holds its charge for several hours and beyond. However, it has difficulty with scanned negatives & scanned black & white photos in higher resolution, even though they are well under the mfg. recommended size limit. Others mention the ease of use, but I can't agree. Unit frequently freezes or skips frames. This has not been a "plug and play" device for me. I'm keeping it because other frames have far worse reviews.

"usability problems, died within 6 weeks" 2009-12-18
By Adam (Aurora, CO, US)
first off: the 1 star review is because my unit died (displayed a white screen, no matter my attempts to reset it) within 6 weeks.

so, as far as the usability problems (which are reasonably minor): there's no light sensor, so you have to program it to turn on and off at certain times. the problem with that: when it turns itself back on, the 'light up' blue buttons down the right hand side of the device stay lit until someone remembers to touch them.

second, I really wasn't filled with confidence by the manual saying things like: "don't press the buttons too fast, you may make it hang", or "if you ever plug or unplug a memory card while it's turned on, you will ruin the device". yeah, that just makes me *sure* it's a well designed product...

and of course, after 6 weeks (of not pressing buttons too fast, and definitely not plugging or removing SD cards, just sitting on a shelf displaying pictures and turning itself on and off), the display turned white.. and no amount of turning it on/off or looking for a non-existent reset button would fix it.
